Rephotography in Doha

Mosque_Stitch_2

As part of research into Doha’s past, we are using old photographs to identify structures and landscapes that still exist and blending them with a current view of the same spot. The above photograph is of the Qubib Mosque in 1904, showing that it was once on the coastline of Qatar. Using the old photographs we can achieve a greater understanding of the massive changes that Doha has undergone in the last 100 years.
